I was wondering if they exported "American" beans to other countries. I don't remember there being an American section of the grocery stores like there is in the US for British/Asian/Mexican foods. Have you seen stuff like molasses, peanut butter, or marshmallows in grocery stores in France? I don't normally make a point of looking for those in France, normally I'm too excited about cheeses, wines, yogurts, breads, and the like.

i just had this last week. Here in France is the same type of beans you find in the UK i'm sure. I even had a friend ask me to help him find baked beans in the store and of course I was looking for the American dish baked beans which they don't have here. Then later on he saw that I had a can of beans in a tomato sauce and exclaimed those are baked beans. Go figure.
